These are good for a broad range of applications and are the most popular  among Foredom's  interchangeable "QUICK DISCONNECT" Hand Pieces. The No's 8, 28, 30 and 44T have pre-lubricated ball bearings that require no additional lubrication and are suitable for continuous use.

Foredom's most popular handpiece features a geared 3-jaw #0 chuck that takes any size shank accessory or drill bit up to 5/32" (4mm). Comes with the CK-O chuck key with molded plastic handle. Various bench top tools are available to work with the versatile  No. 30 including Foredom's drill presses  and Handpiece Holder   and the Allset Stone Setting, and other kits

Collet-type chuck handpiece accommodates accessories with shank sizes up to 1/4"in diameter. Comes with three collets-3/32" (2.35mm) ,  1/8" (3.18mm) and 1/4" (6.4mm)and pin and chuck wrench. Other fractional and metric collets are available separately  and in (Collet Set 440) p14 Can also be used  in Foredom's (handpiece holder) p 14 and (drill presses) p15

1 & 2 Changing Accessories

Foredom Handpieces come supplied with the tools needed to change accessories. It's easy to insert or remove an accessory using a chuck key for the #30 , or a pin and wrench for No's. 44T, #28 and set of wrenches for the No. 8

Foredom's No's. 28 and #8 Handpieces have slender designs with tapered front grips for holding like a pencil. The No. 8 has a chuck guard that slides back when changing collets and accessories.

What is an Interchangeable Hand Piece?

Foredom's Quick Disconnect or "QD" feature makes it fast and easy to interchange Handpieces to any flexible shaft (except the series TXH which has a different, square drive tip ). QD refers to the back portion of Foredom's  extensive selection of "QD" type handpieces. Inside the QD is a round connector with a slot that accepts the "keyed tip" on the end of the flexible shaft. Since the QD's are the same on all handpieces of this type, they can interchangeable and can be attached or removed with ease. When attaching a handpiece, be sure that the keyed tip of the flexible shaft is properly lined up with the slot in the back and by looking inside before pushing it on. To remove, simply pull the handpiece off the shaft with a firm grip .
