The reliable FCT is Foredom's most popular foot operated foot control it features solid state circuitry in a heavy duty plastic housing with an extra  wide foot print, low profile and non-skid pads on the bottom for ease of use. It provides smooth control throughout the entire speed range CSA listed 7" long, 4-1/2" wide, 2-3/8"high, Shipping Weight 2 lbs./1kg.

SCT

The SCT offers the same electronics and smooth control as the FCT but in a much heavier cast iron housing. The bottom surface of the SCT is covered with non-skid material. The added weight of the metal housing eliminates any unexpected movement of the control along the floor CSA listed. 6-3/4" long, 4" wide, 2-3/8" high. Shp. Wt. 6 lbs/2.7kg.

EM

The EM is solid state control in plastic housing that sits on a table top and has a dial for adjusting and setting speed by hand. The EM has other less obvious advantageous:

1- You can maintain and come back to a desired speed , time and again, by using the motor on/off switch rather than the speed control to power the unit.

2- The EM has an easy to access and replace replaceable fuse that protects the electronics during power surges and work overloads . 5" long,

All Foredom controls are equipped with two cords coming off the back. The 15" shorter cord  or socket connecter accepts the motor plug. and the longer 6 foot cord connects to a power outlet.

These motors are all ready discontinued in 2006. However, maintenance, repair parts, and speed controls for the 1/10 HP, CC, DD, MM, R, RM,  RB and 1/8 HP, SR, SRM, SRB, S, SM, and SB models are still available.
